Associate Degrees and Certificates
Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT)
The Associate Degrees for Transfer (AA-T and AS-T) were created for students who intend to complete a Bachelor degree in a similar major at a California State University campus. The Associate Degree for Transfer will be granted to students who have the following:
- Completion of 60 CSU transferable semester units.
- A minimum of at least 2.0 GPA in CSU transferable courses (note that a higher GPA may be required in some institutions).
- Completion of at least 18 units in the major with a grade of “C” or better. A “P” (Pass) grade is also an acceptable grade for courses in the major if the course is taken on a Pass/No Pass basis.
- Certified completion of the California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC). For a complete list of Cal-GETC approved courses and their approval dates, students may visit www.assist.org.
- Residency requirement: Complete a minimum of 12 semester units In Residence within the College District with a minimum of six (6) semester units at EVC.
Associate in Arts Degree (A.A.)
To be awarded the Associate in Arts degree at Evergreen Valley College, students must complete the following minimum requirements:
- A major consisting of 18 semester units in a specialized or related field of study. The major may be in a special field or general studies area. All required major coursework must be completed with a “C” grade or better.
- A minimum of 34 semester units from the A.A. General Education pattern
- Minimum 2.0 G.P.A.
- Residency requirement: Complete a minimum of 12 semester units In Residence within the College District with a minimum of six (6) semester units at EVC.
- Graduation requirements: U.S. History Constitution and American Ideals
Associate in Science Degree (A.S.)
To be awarded the Associate in Science degree at Evergreen Valley College, students must complete the following minimum requirements:
- A major consisting of 18 semester units in a specialized or related field of study. The major may be in a special field or general studies area. All required major coursework must be completed with a “C” grade or better.
- A minimum of 27 semester units from the A.S. General Education pattern
- Minimum 2.0 G.P.A.
- Residency requirement: Complete a minimum of 12 semester units In Residence within the College District with a minimum of six (6) semester units at EVC.
- Graduation requirements: U.S. History Constitution and American Ideals
Evergreen Valley College will waive AA/AS/ADT general education and graduation requirements if:
Students who have been awarded a bachelor's degree or higher shall be deemed to have fulfilled the general education and other course requirements for the associate degree (AA/AS/ADT), by satisfying the following requirements:
- Submit an official transcript showing completion of a bachelor’s degree or higher degree from a university that is accredited by one of the seven accrediting organizations that were previously termed “regional” – and –
- Successful completion of major or area of emphasis requirements as set forth in the new major or area of emphasis – and –
- Meet degree in residence requirements
Certificates
Evergreen Valley College offers two types of certificates:
- Certificate of Achievement
- Non-Credit Certificate of Competency or Completion (non-credit certificates will not appear on transcripts).
To be awarded a Certificate of Achievement at Evergreen Valley College, students must complete the following:
- All required coursework must be completed with a grade of "C" or higher
- Residency Requirement - 6 semester units must have been earned at EVC
