This is a survey course designed for the general public to study the history and practice of Chicanx/Latinx theatre. Emphasis will be placed on the development of Chicanx and Latinx theatre in the United States. Specific areas of interest will include the Chicanx/Latinx theatre movement in San Jose and California. Students will also participate in the elements of creating and performing Chicanx/Latinx theatre. Field trips may be required.

Students will be introduced to basic techniques of designing and applying stage makeup. Makeup techniques covered in this course will include: contouring the face with highlights and shadows, applying bases, eye makeup, special effects makeup, hair and wig dressing.
