About the College
The first classes at Evergreen Valley College were conducted on September 3, 1975 and the college in the San Jose foothills has grown to approximately 9,000 students per semester. . As one of the most culturally varied student bodies within the California Community College system, we take pride in fostering an environment that celebrates and embraces our rich tapestry of backgrounds and perspectives.
At Evergreen Valley College, our core values of opportunity, equity, and social justice are at the heart of everything we do. Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to provide career-focused and academic pathways, ensuring that students have the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in their chosen fields.
From 2023 to 2025, Evergreen Valley College will open up four new buildings: Language Arts, a Student Center, General Education and an expansion of our nursing building in Sequoia. Our state-of-the-art learning and student services spaces further demonstrate our dedication to student success. With solid support from the community, we have transformed our campus to enhance student satisfaction, preparation, and achievement. Notable additions include the cutting-edge Automotive Technology Building, the multi-disciplinary MS3 Building encompassing Math, Science, and Social Sciences, a modern Fitness Center, and the esteemed Veterans Freedom Center. Additionally, our sports complex now features futsal and pickleball courts, catering to the athletic pursuits of our students and community members. And our commitment to progress continues, with ongoing projects underway, including the construction of a new Student Services Complex, a Language Arts Building, and a General Education Building.
