Located in Student Services Complex (SSC) S-2093.
The California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) Program at Evergreen Valley College encourages personal development through education. CalWORKs is the welfare program in the state of California, which assists parents by providing cash aid and resources to assist them with being successful in college and beyond. CalWORKs is committed to helping individuals receive an education that will provide employment opportunities through short-term certificates, as well as Associate of Arts and Sciences Degrees. The goal of the CalWORKs Program at EVC is to promote economic self-sufficiency for the entire family through education. The CalWORKs Program partners with the County of Santa Clara to provide services and support including school supplies, school related expenses, academic counseling, and more.
Through the CalWORKs Work Study Program, we have a limited number of jobs on and off campus to assist students in gaining hands-on experience during their education at the college. Each student can request to meet with the CalWORKs staff to assess their career goals and determine what kind of workplace experience would be most beneficial to them.
